My Story
From Wood Stove to the Word of God
I was raised very old school. We didn't have a furnace - just wood burning stove that heated our home. No hot running water; we warmed it in galvanized buckets on the stove for baths, dishes, and laundry. We milked our cow, grew our food, baked our bread, hunted and canned to make it through the Michigan winters.
On Sundays, Dad sent us to gather chickens for dinner, I learned to dip and pluck them over boiling water. It wasn't glamorous - but it was home. Those years taught me to work hard, waste little, and thank God for everything.
